Why Does My Heart... is a performative lettering piece where music acts as a score and gesture becomes expanded writing across space.

Produced at La Filanda, the piece takes Moby’s song as a starting point to build an action across 24 independent canvases that gradually come together as a single typographic composition. Each stroke, drip, and interruption responds to an active, emotional, and rhythmic listening.

The work sits between painting, performance, and typography. The word does not appear all at once, but unfolds in fragments, distributed across modules that force the letter to be read as a temporal and spatial structure rather than a fixed form.

The final result preserves the memory of the action: intensity, error, speed, and body. For that reason, the piece works not only as a finished visual composition, but also as a record of an event where music, movement, and writing share the same time.
